We are a small appliance-repair company in Saskatoon that started in 2023 and has stayed deliberately small ever since.
The company began the way a lot of good trades do — one person, one van, and a phone that got answered on the second ring. In those first months the work came mostly by word of mouth: a fridge sorted in one neighbourhood led to a call from the next street over, then the next. What kept the phone ringing was not advertising. It was that people knew they would get a straight answer and a technician who turned up when he said he would.
That reputation is the thing we have tried hardest to protect as we have grown. There are five of us now, each a technician rather than a salesperson, and between us we cover the whole city — from the older homes in Riversdale and City Park out to the newer builds in Brighton and Evergreen. Adding people was never about taking on more jobs than we could do well. It was about being able to reach more of Saskatoon on the same day someone calls, without stretching any one person thin.
Our approach has not really changed since the first year. We diagnose in person, because the same symptom can come from several different faults and the only honest way to know which one you have is to open the machine up. We give you the price before we start, and nothing happens until you agree to it. And when a repair is not worth doing — when a machine is old enough that fixing one fault only buys a few months before the next — we tell you that plainly, even though it means walking away from the job.
We would rather lose a repair than talk someone into one they do not need. It is a slower way to build a business, but it is the reason so many of our calls now come from people we have worked for before, or from someone they told.
We live in Saskatoon too. The drive across town is never an excuse, the weekends are covered like any other day, and when you call you reach someone who knows the city rather than a call centre somewhere else. That is the whole idea behind the name and behind the company: dependable appliance repair, done by people who are part of the same place you are.
