The agreement between us

Terms and Conditions

These terms apply when you book an appliance repair with Opimihaw Appliance Repair in Saskatoon. Booking a visit, by phone or through the form on this site, means you accept them. Please read them so you know how a service call works, what is covered, and where our responsibility begins and ends.

Booking a service call

When you book, we arrange for a technician to attend your address within an agreed time window to diagnose the problem. Telling us the make, model and symptoms when you book helps us bring the right parts, but every diagnosis is carried out in person. We do not diagnose faults over the phone.

Diagnostic and pricing

Every visit begins with a diagnostic, for which a flat fee applies. That fee is quoted to you before the appointment is booked. Once the technician has inspected the appliance, you are given a price for the repair, and no work goes ahead until you approve it. If you choose to proceed with the repair, the diagnostic fee is not charged separately. If you decide not to go ahead, the diagnostic fee is payable for the technician's time and assessment.

Access and working conditions

For us to carry out a repair, the appliance must be safely and readily accessible, installed in its normal position, and located in a safe, sanitary environment. Our technician may decline to work in conditions that are unsafe or unsanitary, or where an appliance cannot be reached safely — for example, one wedged into a space that cannot be accessed without risk. In those cases we are unable to complete the visit.

Parts and availability

We carry the parts that fail most often, so many repairs finish in a single visit. When a part has to be ordered, we give you a date for the return visit. Occasionally a part is discontinued or cannot be sourced at a reasonable cost, or an appliance is beyond economical repair. If that happens, we will tell you plainly, and neither of us is obliged to continue with the repair.

Payment

Payment for a completed repair, or for the diagnostic fee where a repair does not proceed, is due at the end of the visit. Applicable taxes are added to the amounts quoted. We provide an itemised receipt, which sets out what was done and which you will need if you ever make a warranty claim.

Warranty

Completed repairs carry a written warranty on the part fitted and the labour to fit it, subject to the terms set out on our warranty page. Cancellations and missed appointments are covered by our cancellation policy. Both form part of these terms.

Our liability

We aim to diagnose and fix a fault on the first visit, though this is not always possible, and we are not liable for losses arising from a delay in diagnosis or repair. If a repair we carried out does not resolve the fault, or a part we fitted fails within the warranty period, our responsibility is to put that repair right, and where necessary to supply a further replacement part. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or economic loss, or for damage to any person or property, arising from the use of or inability to use an appliance. We do not cover faults that fall under a manufacturer's recall or warranty, or a pre-existing defect that was present before our visit.

Residential use

Our service is provided for household appliances in a residential setting. Equipment used for commercial or other non-residential purposes falls outside these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you book is the one that applies to your service call.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada that apply within it.
